Separate Qpoints measure your progress towards elite status and are awarded based on flight distance, cabin and booking class. at least 20% of your Qpoints must come from Qatar‑operated flights or you must fly at least 4 (within 12 months prior to retention) or 8 sectors (within 24 months prior to retention) on flights marketed and operated by Qatar Airways.
Ways to earn Avios and Qpoints
- Flights marketed and operated by Qatar Airways, Oneworld airlines and select partners.
- Everyday spend with partners including hotels, car rentals, shopping portals and co‑branded credit cards (these earn Avios but no Qpoints).
- Promotions and points transfers from other Avios programmes (British Airways, Iberia Plus and Finnair).
Avios expire after 36 months of inactivity, any account activity (earning or redemption) extends the validity of your entire balance. Avios do not expire for Platinum members and can be reinstated for a fee if they lapse.
