How Cathay membership works
Cathay membership allows you to earn Asia Miles on flights with Cathay Pacific, Oneworld airlines and selected partners, as well as through hotel stays, dining, shopping and co‑branded credit cards. Asia Miles can be redeemed for award flights, upgrades, extra‑legroom seats and a host of lifestyle rewards. Status Points determine your tier and are earned on flights based on airline, cabin and fare.
Ways to earn Asia Miles & Status Points
- Paid flights operated by Cathay Pacific, Oneworld carriers and selected partners (earn Asia Miles and Status Points).
- Spending on hotels, car rentals, dining and shopping with Asia Miles partners (earn Asia Miles).
- Promotions, purchase or transfer of Asia Miles and partner credit card offers.
Status levels are achieved by earning Status Points within a membership year: Silver requires 300 Status Points, Gold 600 and Diamond 1,200. Mid‑status benefits unlock additional lounge passes and upgrade certificates at various thresholds (e.g., 200, 450, 800, 1,000, 1,400 and 1,600 points).
Asia Miles follow an activity‑based expiry system: earning or redeeming at least one mile every 18 months keeps your miles active. Status Points reset at the end of each membership year and cannot be extended or purchased.
